IAS officer Amneet P. Kumar, wife of late IPS officer Y Puran Kumar, has given her consent for the post-mortem to be conducted. She took this decision after receiving assurances from the UT Police of a fair, transparent, and impartial investigation, as well as the Haryana government’s commitment to take legal action against any officials found guilty as per the law.
Amneet P. Kumar stated that, in the interest of justice and to preserve evidence, it is necessary to conduct the post-mortem in a timely manner. She informed that the procedure will be carried out by a board of doctors in accordance with established rules, and a ballistic expert will also be present. The entire process will be conducted under the supervision of a magistrate and recorded on video to ensure complete transparency.
Expressing full faith in the judiciary and the police administration, she said she hopes the investigation will be conducted fairly, professionally, and within a reasonable timeframe so that the truth can come to light.
Amneet P. Kumar also assured full cooperation with the investigation team to ensure the process is completed swiftly and justice is delivered.
In conclusion, she said that considering the sensitivity of the matter, no further public statements will be issued at this time and appealed to the media to respect the sensitivity of the issue.
