Investigators search the Maruti Brezza recovered from Al-Falah University campus as the Delhi Blast probe continues to widen
Delhi Blast Probe Expands With Discovery of Third Vehicle
The investigation into the Delhi Blast has taken another major turn as agencies discovered a third vehicle connected to the suspected terror module. Officers recovered a Maruti Suzuki Brezza from the campus of Al-Falah University in Faridabad. This comes after two earlier vehicles were linked to the case — the i20 that exploded near Red Fort and a red EcoSport connected to another suspect.
The recovery of the Brezza strengthens the belief that the group had access to multiple vehicles and may have planned a wider operation than initially assumed.
Brezza Linked to University Doctor
The Brezza is registered under the name of Dr Shaheen Shahid, a doctor associated with Al-Falah University. Investigators are trying to determine whether the car was actively used by the suspected network or if it was kept hidden as part of their logistical setup.
The vehicle was found parked inside the university premises, which has prompted officials to carefully examine movements inside the campus, student and staff activities, and possible support systems that may have existed.
Authorities are also checking whether the doctor had any knowledge of the vehicle’s suspected use, or if the car was being used without her awareness.
Why This Vehicle Discovery Matters
The presence of a third vehicle indicates a more organised structure behind the Delhi Blast. Investigators believe that multiple cars could have been used for:
- Transporting explosive materials
- Conducting reconnaissance runs
- Serving as backup vehicles
- Storing items linked to the planning
The fact that all three vehicles belong to individuals linked with the same university has raised concerns about the extent of involvement from within the institution.
This discovery has also widened the scope of the investigation, with more individuals now under surveillance and questioning.
Probing the University Link
Al-Falah University has become a key focus of the Delhi Blast investigation. The recovery of the Brezza from its campus has made officials take a closer look at:
- Who had access to the parked vehicles
- CCTV footage inside the premises
- Residential blocks and academic departments
- Communication between staff members
- Movements of individuals linked to the suspected group
Security teams have reportedly mapped an unusually high number of vehicles connected to individuals under investigation. This pattern has suggested the possibility of coordinated planning happening from the location.

Next Steps in the Investigation
The Maruti Brezza will undergo a detailed forensic examination. Investigators will check for traces of explosives, fingerprints, digital devices, and any signs that the car was modified or used for transportation of harmful materials. Officials are also working on establishing a timeline — when the vehicle entered the campus, who drove it last, and how it fits into the chain of events that led up to the blast. Further questioning of individuals linked with the car, as well as their communication records, financial transactions, and travel history, will help determine whether this was an isolated link or part of a larger coordinated effort.
