The long-pending demand for a new rail line from Rajpura to Mohali has finally been approved by the Centre. This rail line will be 18 km long.
Today, Indian Railways has given two big gifts to Punjab. The demand for the Rajpura–Mohali rail line had been raised for decades, and today the government has finally approved it. This project will further improve rail connectivity of the entire Malwa region with Chandigarh.
In addition, a new Vande Bharat train has been announced between Firozpur and Delhi.
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that this is an important project. He informed that the Rajpura–Mohali new line will be 18 km long, and work on it will begin soon. The project will cost ₹443 crore. The Railway Minister also mentioned that this entire area was disconnected from the capital, and since the 1960s there had been a demand to connect it directly.
This decision of the Centre has brought great happiness among the common people.
