
Chandigarh, October 3: Arogya Bharati, Chandigarh City, in collaboration with the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, on Friday organized a plantation drive of medicinal and sacred plants at Shanti Kunj, Sector 16.
The initiative, aimed at promoting awareness about the ecological, spiritual and scientific value of India’s traditional medicinal heritage, saw participation from civic officials, academics and members of Arogya Bharati.
Amit Kumar, IAS, Commissioner, Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, attended the programme as the Chief Guest, while Sanjeevan Kumar, Rajasthan and North Region Coordinator of Arogya Bharati and National Executive Member, was present as a special guest. The event was supported by Pritpal Singh, Executive Engineer (Horticulture), Municipal Corporation Chandigarh.

Among those present were Dr. Santosh Kumar, President of Arogya Bharati Chandigarh, Prof. Shivani Sharma, Advocate Karamjit Chaudhary, Prof. Sushil Kumar Tomar, Prof. Mati Anupam, Surinder Pal Chauhan, Jagat Ram and Amit Dewan.
As part of the drive, species such as Tulsi, Harshingar, Lajvanti, Lemongrass, Cardamom, Brahmi, Neem, Peepal and Bargad were planted. The highlight was the plantation of a Triveni — the traditional trio of Neem, Peepal and Bargad — symbolising spiritual and ecological harmony.
Organizers said the initiative is part of Arogya Bharati’s mission to reconnect citizens with Ayurveda and India’s age-old natural health traditions.
