Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is visiting Lehra Gaga in Sangrur district today. During his visit, he laid the foundation stone and inaugurated several development projects. Among them was the foundation stone for the new Tehsil Complex in Lehra Gaga, which will be constructed at a cost of ₹25 crore.
On this occasion, CM Bhagwant Mann announced that compensation will start being distributed to people before October 10–15, so that the hope of lighting the lamp of Diwali remains alive. Extending his best wishes to the people, CM Mann said that even though the water level of the Ghaggar river rose above the danger mark, it was ensured that there was no overflow. He credited this to the hard work of the people, stating that if Ghaggar’s water had entered, 50,000 acres of crops would have been submerged, leading to losses worth up to ₹450 crore.
Earlier, the CM informed that the new complex will include modern offices, a record room, a citizen facilitation center, and digital services, which will improve administrative efficiency. Along with this, CM Bhagwant Mann also extended his best wishes to the couples at a mass wedding ceremony of 101 girls held in Lehra Gaga.
CM Mann said that husband and wife are like two wheels of a vehicle. The vehicle moves only when both wheels run together. If one wheel gets punctured, people watch and make a spectacle of it. It is better, he added, that everyone lives together in harmony.
