"Rohtak SP Removed Amid IPS Officer Y. Puran Kumar's Suicide Row
Chandigarh: Amid the controversy surrounding the suicide of senior Haryana IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar, Rohtak SP Narendra Bijarnia was removed from his post on Saturday. IPS officer Surender Singh Bhauria has been appointed as the new SP. For now, Bijarnia has not been assigned any new posting.
On the fifth day today, Kumar’s post-mortem is likely to be conducted. His body has been shifted from Sector 16 Government Hospital to PGI. The family has alleged that the body was taken to PGI against their wishes.
In the IPS Puran Kumar suicide case, an FIR has been registered at Chandigarh’s Sector 11 police station against 15 people, including Haryana DGP Shatrujeet Kapoor and Rohtak SP Narendra Bijarnia. A six-member SIT has been constituted for investigation under the leadership of IG Pushpendra Kumar.
