NEET PG 2025 candidates await seat-allotment results as NBEMS updates instructions for joining and fee payment
NEET PG 2025: What You Must Know for Counselling & Joining
The counselling process for NEET PG 2025 is now in a critical phase. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has issued fresh, important instructions for candidates who have been allotted seats under the AIQ scheme. These guidelines cover everything from document verification and medical fitness to fee payments and registration on the portal.
Document Verification & Medical Fitness
At the time of reporting to the allotted hospital, candidates must bring all original documents for verification. The hospital’s Medical Board will also conduct a fitness evaluation. Anyone who fails this step will not be permitted to join the course.
Candidates are advised to:
- Check the official information bulletin and counselling scheme carefully.
- Carry identity proof, NEET PG scorecard, allotment letter and other required certificates.
- Ensure they are medically fit as declared by the hospital board.
Fee Payment & Joining Process
A key requirement from NBEMS: all candidates must pay the first-year course fee online through the dedicated portal. Candidates must produce the fee receipt during reporting. Failure to pay in time will lead to the seat being treated as vacant and reallocated.
Also, after joining, the hospital must update the candidate’s reporting and joining status on the Intra-MCC portal. If the status is not updated by the deadline, the seat is forfeited.
Portal Activation & Special Cases
The NBEMS’ Online Portal for Joining and Registration (OPJR) will become active only after the completion of all counselling rounds. Until then the portal remains inactive. Candidates and institutions must note this delay and plan accordingly.
For in-service doctors (those working in government organisations, railways, PSUs, ESI, etc.), they must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) and study-leave approval at the time of joining. Without these, their seat may be cancelled.

Why These Steps Matter
These instructions from NBEMS for NEET PG 2025 are meant to ensure the counselling procedure is fair, transparent and time-bound. Clearing documentation, medical fitness, fee submission and portal registration help avoid last-minute problems and seat forfeiture.
For candidates who have worked hard through competitive exams, this phase is their final step before starting postgraduate training. Missing any requirement can mean losing the hard-won seat.
