Lav Kush Ramlila 2025: Poonam Pandey as Mandodari, Arya Babbar as Ravan

The nation’s most prestigious Lav Kush Ramlila, held annually at the historic Red Fort Ground, is gearing up for an extraordinary season this year. Adding to the grandeur of the epic performance, popular film and television actress Poonam Pandey has been roped in to play the iconic role of Mandodari, the queen of Lanka and the devoted wife of Ravan.
The announcement was made by Arjun Kumar, President of the Lav Kush Ramlila Committee, who expressed excitement over Pandey’s inclusion in the cast.
“When we approached Poonam Pandey for this role, she instantly agreed. She told us that portraying Mandodari on stage has been her lifelong dream, fulfilled by the blessings of Lord Shri Ram. Performing live before thousands of spectators is a challenge, but she is fully committed and deeply involved in rehearsals to deliver her best performance,” said Kumar.
Poonam Pandey, who has made a mark with impactful roles in films such as Karma – The Journey and GST: Galti Se Sirf, along with her appearances in the cult TV series CID, is expected to bring a strong and graceful presence to the role of Mandodari.
She will share the stage with renowned actor Arya Babbar, who will essay the powerful role of Ravan this year. The on-stage dynamic between Pandey and Babbar as Mandodari and Ravan is anticipated to be one of the highlights of the grand production.
The Lav Kush Ramlila, celebrated for its elaborate sets, high-quality performances, and innovative stagecraft, draws thousands of devotees, families, and cultural enthusiasts every year. This year’s edition will run from September 22 to October 3, 2025, culminating in the grand effigy burning of Ravan on Dussehra, October 2.
With Poonam Pandey’s star power and Arya Babbar’s strong screen presence, the 2025 staging of Lav Kush Ramlila is set to be one of the most memorable cultural highlights of the festive season in the capital.
