After the loss in Asia Cup 2025 final, Pakistan team is facing huge criticism. Former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar strongly criticized Pakistan’s coach and captain.
India defeated Pakistan for the third time in a row. Let me tell you, India won by 5 wickets. After losing the Asia Cup 2025 final at Dubai International Stadium, the Pakistan cricket team is facing big insult. From fans to former cricketers, everyone is blaming the Pakistani players. Meanwhile, former fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar attacked coach Mike Hesson and captain Salman Ali Agha. Taking a dig, Akhtar called Pakistan’s captain and coach useless. Along with this, he blamed the team management for the defeat.
On 28 September, in the title match played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Pakistan batted first and scored 146 runs. In reply, with the help of Tilak Varma, India chased the target with 2 balls remaining. India defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets.
After this big defeat of Pakistan, Akhtar said that this is the mistake of the management, who do not have the right thinking. He called such coaching meaningless and useless. He regretted that he had to use such harsh words, but said it is the truth. He further added that Pakistan’s middle order batting has been a problem for a long time. Once again the weakness of the middle order was exposed. Till now management has not taken any strong step to fix it. He also said that this was a Super Sunday and the whole country was watching, but our middle order is already a problem. We all keep saying that our top-3 batsmen in the middle order are a problem.
Questions raised on Salman Ali’s captaincy
Shoaib Akhtar also raised questions on the captaincy of Salman Ali Agha. He said captaincy is questionable. When Indian batsmen were struggling against spinners, giving the ball to Haris Rauf was beyond understanding. He gave 17 runs in one over, which was not needed. Akhtar admitted that there are many reasons behind the loss, but coaching and captaincy were the biggest problems. He said that in such big matches, wrong strategy always costs Pakistan heavily.
